Newcomers and visitors are always welcome at our worship services and activities. Whether you are in town for vacation, just moved here, or want to see who we are, just join us at a worship service or event. When you come, be sure to introduce yourself as new and we'll see that you get connected.
Newcomers to our regular services can help get connected by identifying themselves to a greeter. The greeter can get you a package of goodies, including a history of our church, recent newsletters, etc. They will also introduce you to our clergy.
Our parish loves to have fun spending time together. This is how we get to know each other and keep up with our community that is spread over the greater Munich area. The main recurring event is coffee hour after the service in the Gemeindesaal (community room). Come for coffee or tea and visit with old hands and other newcomers. Just follow the crowd through the narrow hallway to the parish hall (“Gemeindesaal”).
The best way to get connected with the community is to join in with a ministry or project. For example, if you sing, feel free to sing with our choir. This is a good way to meet people. The choir practices Sunday morning before the service at 10:15 in the Gemeindesaal. SInce we practice the music for each Sunday that morning, it is easy to join in. Another great way to meet people is to help with the coffee hour service. See one of the servers and they can get you connected.
Children are welcome at all services. There is also a Nursery and Sunday School available. A tip for children in church... sit near the front. It's more interesting for the kids. And the layout of our church tends to magnify sounds from under the balcony.
Welcome to the Church of the Ascension!
